“Starstruck” alumnus LJ Reyes said she’s not ready to fall in love again because she’s busy taking care of her “lola” and her son, Aki, with former partner, Paulo Avelino.
LJ said love is a decision to commit. She is very careful about entering into a new relationship because she has Aki.
LJ and Paulo officially parted ways last year. Paulo is now being linked to KC Concepcion.
The actress was previously linked to actor JC de Vera but she just laughed this off because they were really just friends. Besides, they don’t even see each other that much now because they are quite busy.
At time, she also thinks about wanting to be with another person because she’s alone now. LJ usually spends her time going out on movie dates with her friends.
LJ has already accepted that Paulo’s name will always be linked to her. They are civil to each other, and they usually talk over the phone or through text when it’s about Aki.
He’s a good father to Aki, she said, although he’s quite busy now with work.
LJ no longer wants to react about Paulo’s relationship with KC. “Wala, walang reaksiyon. Wala talaga, e. Kung siguro noong medyo fresh pa, baka. Pero ang hirap kasing i-explain sa inyo.”
She never revealed the real reason why she and Paulo broke up, so it’s hard for her to explain where she’s coming from.
LJ feels like she was the one who was able to move on immediately after the breakup. She doesn’t want to talk about it anymore, and the people are welcome to speculate, she added.
She will be happy for Paulo and KC if their relationship progresses. After all, everyone just wants to be happy, LJ said.
Meanwhile, the actress revealed that she’s excited to be doing a movie for Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival again. She had two awards before for “The Leaving” and “Intoy Syokoy.”
Now, she’s doing “The Janitor” under the director of Mike Tuviera. She will be starring alongside Dennis Trillo in the film.
LJ said it’s easy to work with Dennis because he’s very professional. “Si Dennis, masaya siyang katrabaho. Kapag trabaho, trabaho talaga.”
She just shrugged off the possibility that they will be linked to each other. After all, Dennis is attractive and it’s not impossible to fall for him, she said.
Aside from “The Janitor,” LJ is also part of “Sunday All Stars.” However, she will only been performing for the Sunday noontime show once a month after it underwent reformatting.
LJ explained that she wasn’t really a part of “Sunday All Stars,” but she was just absorbed because she usually performs for the show.
“So, okay lang. Okay lang naman kasi, nakaka-miss din naman ang family day at saka ang weekends mo kasi, siyempre, yung family mo at friends mo usually, yun ang free time nila.”
Now, she has time for her friends and even just to take Aki to Church.
LJ also reacted to the news that Mark Herras was suspended because of his reactions to the reformatting of the show. She said everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
It is also hard to misinterpret a person, she added. She shared though that Mark is very proud of his daughter, Ada.
