Daniel Padilla said Lea Salonga’s comment against him during the final night of “The Voice Kids” is a non-issue for him. He has a high respect for Lea, and this issue should not get out of proportion, he added.
The teen king’s fans were miffed when Lea said that “Yung mga DJ na ‘yan, wala, sorry, their names will be erased once you get to that age.” Lea was talking to Juan Karlos Labajo of Team Bamboo after one of his performances.
DJ is Daniel’s nickname.
Because of this comment, Daniel’s fans took to Twitter and criticized Lea for what she said during the live show. Lea immediately apologized to Daniel’s fans, saying she didn’t mean to hurt them or the teen king. She just wanted to praise and build up Juan Karlos.
She meant no disrespect to Daniel’s fans, the Broadway star said, humbly asking for forgiveness for a mistake she made during the July 26 episode of the singing contest.
On July 27, Daniel was asked to comment about the issue. Daniel said he talked with his mother, Karla Estrada, about it. Karla told him that they have high respect for Lea, and Daniel should not give any comment about the issue anymore.
Daniel said Lea may have just been caught in the moment.
