Pinoy actor Allen Dizon wins the Best Actor Award at the 3rd Silk Road Film Festival held in Dublin, Ireland from March 18 to March 22.
Allen was awarded for his role in “Magkakabaung (The Coffin Maker).” The awards night was held at The Sugar Club on March 22.
Aside from Allen, other nominees were Gerard Depardieu of “The Voice of Steppe,” Sofi Jikan of “Men Who Save The World,” Iwase Ryo of “Midsummers Fantasia,” and Mohammad Javad Ezzati of “Angels Descend Together.”
This latest recognition from Silk Road Film Festival is the third international best actor that Allen received for “Magkakabaung.” He was awarded the Best Actor trophy also at the 9th Harlem International Film Festival in New York and the Hanoi International Film Festival in Vietnam in 2014.
Aside from the Best Actor award, “Magkakabaung” was also awarded the Best Film at the 3rd Silk Road Film Festival. “Magkakabaung” was directed by Jason Paul Laxamana.
“Ekstra (A Bit Player)” was also nominated for the Best Film category at the 3rd Silk Road Film Festival. This was the first indie film for Batangas Governor and Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos-Recto. She was nominated for the Best Actress category.
Allen personally accepted the Best Actor Trophy and the Best Film certificate from the SRFF.
